We understand the importance of providing effective and authentic learning experiences for your students. Our priorities as a team are to help support your pupils to engage with their learning, and to help them with making informed next step decisions by raising awareness of the variety of options available to them. Below are the existing sessions we offer, however we are happy to work with you to develop sessions to meet the needs of your cohort.

The MythBusters series:

These can work as standalone sessions or are designed to allow progression of knowledge for students. It can help promote Gatsby Benchmarks 1 and 5

Suggested Year Group Session Title Content:

Year 7 MythBusters – Introduction to the NHS An engaging session on the importance and role of the NHS in the UK, focusing on the different employment opportunities available for individuals and signposting the available services for the future. This session will help with raising aspirations.

Year 8 MythBusters – Fighting Stereotypes! We focus on stereotypes held about the NHS and debunking these. This includes the gender divide, and why it is important that the focus is on recognising personal strengths rather than what people expect.

Year 9 MythBusters – Where can Health and Social Care take you? As students consider their different KS4 options, we look at the strengths and benefits of different routes, considering what people could do with the choices they make, and using the NHS as an example of how people may progress over time.

Year 10 MythBusters – What will you do next? Encouraging students to reflect on their own strengths, interests and enjoyments we look at exploring how these translate to employment, ensuring students are aware of different resources and how to access these.

Year 11 MythBusters – Applying for success In yr. 11 students may be putting into practise their ability to apply for their next steps, whether 6th form, college, employment or apprenticeships. We will discuss the different way to search for vacancies, top tips in completing application forms and guidance for success in interviews.
